Our client in Lubbock, TX was devising an NIL social that would enable student athletes to earn NIL revenue from their fans.

Our initial task was to name the app and create its visual identity. We rose to the challenge by also crafting a comprehensive messaging system that appealed to both student athletes and the “everyfan” who funds them.

We collaborated SoCal development firm, Uptech Studios, in designing the app's interface and user experience.

Commanding impression

The name sends a message to aspiring student athletes: “Fans are your business.”

The challenge was creating a simple logo that met the design standards of a professional sports franchise, while keeping it sports-agnostic to connect with all athletes.

The color palette avoids any association with specific universities, claiming its own trademarked visual style.

Student athlete roster & funding

After registering their account fans can browse the roster, choose their favorite athlete, connect their bank account and send a financial contribution.

Their contribution may be one-time or recurring.

Digital sports cards

Athletes cannot simply receive funds. According to NCAA requirements, there’s must be a transactional exchange of value.

In order to maintain compliance, the supporter receives a minted digital sports card with the student athletes’s current stats from the moment support is submitted.

This exchange complies with the NCAA’s requirements and adds margin to the athlete’s time and energy.

Baller debit card

The Fan inc. app is also a banking app that allows the student athlete open their own checking account. From there they can manage their NIL funds with a steel debit card.

Unboxing experience

We wanted to treat student athletes like VIP’s. This meant rolling out the red carpet with packaging that felt meaningful. This custom mailer created an ideal experience in unveiling their Fan inc. debit card.

Social launch

We worked with our friends at IronRoots, a social marketing firm, to extend and evolve the brand into an aggressive campaign to build an audience of both students athletes and fans.
